THEME: The Incarnation- Christianity, properly understood, is a claim that God almighty came down from heaven, revealing and embodying truth in the person of Jesus Christ. God is not an abstract notion, godliness is not learning a bunch of "God-facts", and being a Christian is not a flight from this material world into the netherworld of disembodied spirituality. "The Word becamce flesh and dwelt among us." This is Christianity; this is good news. God took our nature. God walked our streets, worked, sweated, played, feasted, lived and then died for our redemption! It is an outrageous claim that no other religion can make. It is because of the INCARNATION of God that Christianity is not a flight from the material world, but rather seeks to see redemption in the material world. The INCARNATION- God punching a hole in the universe and coming down- means nothing less than that he is committed to making himself known to us, saving not only our souls but our bodies, and to redeeming and restoring the beautiful yet broken world in which we live. Nothing less than a full understanding of the INCARNATION will lead to a robust Christian life that not only talks about truth in the abstract, but also embodies it in real life. During our week together, we will talk about the INCARNATION and it's relationship to salvation, art, music, matter, food, and a life of fulfillment. Simply put, the INCARNATION means that God didn't come to "Save you" out of the human life, but to redeem you in the midst of it!

We hope that you will join us and Westminster for this week away!
