THE GOSPEL
"When we study the Scriptures, it becomes clear that the core of the gospel concerns the death, resurrection and glory of Christ. ... The gospel reminds us that the key to growth is learning to do what we hate to do, to die to ourselves- our pride, our fears, and our ambitions. Yet, this death to self emerges from our confidence that God's resurrection power will propel our work further and deeper than we ever could even with all our business savvy. The gospel topples out inborn tendency towards self-glory and renews it with the only glory that will endure through eternity. When we forget the gospel we easily move from God-centered salvation to a self-centered salvation."

I like this quote. I think it is appropriate with Serving Saturdays rapidly approaching. I hope that the Gospel will be the center of all we do!
